Why is it that Suffering in our world, can seem meaningless, particularly when it concerns animals?
An animal that suffers, after hours of agony, when we feel there is no need for it, and he could die at once, makes us ask ourselves why does this happen. Then we must really give a meaning to the word Suffering.
There is Suffering on a physical level, and animals have this type of Suffering. There is the intellectual and spiritual Suffering, which belongs to the human being on a mental level.
Sometimes an individual suffers not only on a physical level, because he also suffers on a mental and intellectual level.
An animal’s Suffering has a meaning, but it cannot be explained from your point of view, because you believe that Suffering is something that should not exist, or at least be avoided.
The Suffering that MUST NOT exist, is the Suffering inflicted intentionally by one person on another. This is the Suffering that must not exist.
It is a negative Suffering that must be absolutely avoided, it needs to be eradicated from the human race.
Suffering that is natural, is normal: the lion doesn’t kill the gazelle for fun, but because he needs to eat, and it is natural that he gets his food in this way. He cannot search for a dead gazelle, because this is not his way of living.
He sees food, and he takes it, so the lion’s intention is obvious: he needs to eat and to feed his cubs………..the gazelle walks by, and he kills it.
If the gazelle does not die immediately, or if the lion leaves it to find another one, or for any reason, he cannot be accused of wanting to make the gazelle suffer, because he is following his instinct, and so there is no intention to cause pain, so the Suffering is not negative.
You would prefer that Suffering did not exist, because in your Mind you have not understood the real meaning of bodily Suffering.
The moment that this type of Suffering begins, there are “substances” which start to move in the organism: some are produced, others annulled and all this has a meaning, not only for the animals or the people who are unwell at that moment, but on a general global level.
You have to understand, that every living creature emits something, secretes something, and as part of the Whole, even what you judge as Suffering, is just as necessary as Joy.
In the Whole there must be equilibrium, therefore, Suffering is not useless or negative, it is necessary. If there were only vibrations of Joy, the world would not be harmonious.
Therefore both Joy and Suffering are necessary for Harmony.
When does Suffering become negative?
I’ll repeat it again: when it is intentionally inflicted, because then it is not the natural vibration of Suffering, but a vibration united, permeated and driven by a negative Force.
When Suffering happens in a natural way, it becomes part of Life.
Why don’t you ask, what is the use of Joy?
A world only made of Joy could not exist, except in the case of conscious Joy. Yet in the conscious Joy, and this is a paradox – there is also a painful moment. In pain there can also be acceptance, which is not manifested with unrestrained Joy, but it is the acceptance of a design that has to be completed, something that must be, that must happen.
So there is not only pain, for in the pain there is Joy as well.
