How can we be self-confident? How can we surrender ourselves to Life’s flow with the Awareness that it is Life that must guide us, not our Minds?
The easiest way to achieve Surrender is to understand how we see ourselves.
What are we? Are we a personality, just earthly beings who reason with our Minds without having any transcendent part that is more “evolved” than the Mind?
These are the first questions we must ask ourselves.
Wanting to control situations at all cost is always a presage of anxiety, because if we look at the Reality, nine times out of ten we are caught off guard.
Things do not happen as we want them to, and our expectations are not satisfying. The more we exercise control, the further we enter a vicious circle and the very thing we really want to control, eludes us.
How can we change?
Humility, a powerful vibration is needed in this situation.
Let us remember that every fear, anxiety or situation that undermines our self-confidence comes from the lack of Humility.
If we make ourselves small, a cell of a divine body, if we can feel ourselves part of the Whole, then we will fear nothing, absolutely nothing, because we are certain, convinced and conscious that we must answer for our actions to the Whole, not to other people or society, so our actions become lighthearted and easy without that rudeness that often renders Life wearisome and sometimes painful.
The first step in acquiring self-confidence is to let go of control which is anyway only an illusion as no one can control what they do not know: nobody knows what will happen in the instant that follows the present moment. So trying to control is just a Utopia. When we make this journey within us we find serenity and peace.
I repeat, it is Humility that will help you to understand completely this mechanism.
Humility is the key that will lead you all the way. We must never forget that we are a cell of the Whole not just an individual, and we derive strength, confidence and information from the Whole. Therefore it is up to us, that Awareness is rooted within us, then our behavior will change.
We must observe ourselves from a distance: the part of us that is more conscious and more elevated sees the more wretched, fragile, unsure side, always trying desperately to control, clinging to his own certainties and activating a conduct of control, expectations and plans.
All this belongs to the most fragile part of us. The conscious and wiser side observes the other part, smiles and keeps at a distance.
It is only fair that the wretched and fragile part of us takes a “beating”, is criticized by others, and contends with situations that do not respond to his wishes, because all this is part of the teaching that Life wants to give him.
You think you are in control and immune to criticism and the opinions of others, but Life will demonstrate that it does not work like that, and so if you are unable to restrain this mechanism of control, you will become increasingly more anxious, tense and fearful, and in the end what will happen? Your health will suffer and become the main problem of your Life.
Therefore, the most important thing is to understand that you are part of the Whole, and in the Whole are all the resources you need, by surrendering to the Whole does not mean that you are a superficial, gullible being, but simply that you act with a sense of reality, because the Whole, -contrary to us- knows the future.
